The wide choice of the water activities, beaches, and open spaces at Red Beach is what makes this well-loved suburb on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula so popular. There is easy access to fishing, diving, swimming, surfing, and sailing at a range of nearby locations. The choice of beaches ranges from walking to local Red Beach, or driving further a-field towards the east and visiting Stanmore Bay, Manly, Army Bay, and Gulf Harbour. Orewa and Hatfields Beach are other popular options to the north.
The outstanding Waiwera Mineral Pools are just ten kilometres north, while the Northern Swim Arena in Silverdale caters for sports, fitness, and learn-to-swim activities. Snow Planet for skiers and boarders of all abilities is just five minutes drive south. There are a range of local Regional Parks to visit, such as Wenderholm, Shakespeare, Riverhead Forest, and the Okura Scenic Bush Reserve.

Red Beach, near the heart of Silverdale, has access to a range of high quality primary and secondary schools, all within short driving distance of this residential development. Silverdale North Primary School is situated within the neighbouring suburb of Millwater. Catering for years 1-8, it has some of the most up-to-date facilities in the area, and a good sized role of just under 300 students. The highly regarded Kingsway College and Primary School are also nearby. The private Stella Maris Catholic School is another option also in close proximity, while Orewa College and the privately run Wentworth College situated further along the Whangaparaoa Peninsula are popular options. Kingsway preschool is also located in the Millwater subdivision at Bonair Crescent.

Within a short drive of Red Beach there are a huge range of shopping options to suit every taste and need. Local specialty shops at the seaside village of Orewa provide an appealing assortment of ocean-side restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. Red Beach residents have easy access to the 50 hectare Metro West & East Recreation Parks and sports grounds, situated within the adjacent Millwater development. The nearby Northern Arena Swim School has become popular for regional sports and swimming activity.
